Your life is like a river

Reading Time: 2 minutes

As I was trying to make sense of all of this while my life felt like it was completely out of my control, I tried to talk to as many people as possible.

That was my way of dealing with it. I know not everyone wants to talk about it. But for me it was part of the recovery process and I truly believe it was part of why I was able to recover.

Going through such a trauma is a mental health issue.

You don’t need to keep it inside. No one will judge you for what happened to you.

So, in my process of talking to people, I spoke to someone in one of my business groups, he’s a life/business coach.

In my talk with him, he said something that really rang true to me and stuck with me to this day:

“Your life is like a river. You have control over where the river takes you. If you don’t like where it’s taking you, you have the choice to step out of that river and head in a different direction.”

Right now, what you feel, the pain you’re going through, the chaos you feel inside your head, you have a choice whether you let this dictate how you feel and the direction of your life from this point onwards.

YOU have the choice to create the life you want despite what has happened to you.

Your life is not the events that happen to you. Your life is not things that are out of your control.

Your life is what you make of it…

…and you can make it a better and happier one.

Here is a free gift to help you dig yourself from the depths of the pain and create a new & better life.
