I’m a practical guy.
I was never very religious (there’s nothing wrong with it, I just chose to follow any particular religion).
So, when I saw the “M” word mentioned so much, I had nothing to lose at this point but to start to take notice.
I’m talking about “meditation”.
I took Yoga classes in the past and they introduced me a bit to mediation but I never did quite catch on.
But the fact that so many people mentioned gratitude (from my last email) and meditation as two elements that really helped them overcome the horrible thoughts coursing through my head, I had to give it a chance.
The thing with meditation is to really accept it and embrace it.
Don’t think about how stupid this feels or how you may look.
Find a quiet and private corner somewhere you can just sit quietly, free from any interruptions or disturbances.
Mediation is about being completely focused on the present and the now.
In addition to doing my gratitude journal writing, I started to meditate every morning.
It doesn’t have to be 30 minutes. It could just be 5 minutes.
The key is to keep practicing on focusing on the present and the now.
